14 DAY TRIAL // An updated flavor of the Instagram application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 5.1.
The new app release features a new design, while also being capable of providing users with a series of performance enhancements, Instagram claims.
At the same time, the new software release comes in a smaller package, which should result in increased overall speed of the application, the company says.
“These changes mean a faster, more responsive app. Your profile screen now loads twice as fast, and we’ve cut the overall app size in half to increase speed throughout Instagram,” a post on the Instagram blog reads.
Instagram for Android 5.1 brings along a cleaner design, which will also make the application easier to use than before.
“We’ve simplified our visuals throughout our app, making use of valuable screen space for small devices and feature phones and rearranging our design to keep buttons within easy reach as you navigate the app on a larger device,” the aforementioned blog post notes.
The app will continue to provide users with the features and capabilities they already love in it, but makes everything faster, cleaner, and easier to use than ever.
