The ban was imposed after some citizens’ complaints

After the recent news that Iran might have banned WhatsApp Messenger service due to the fact that it’s now owned by “American Zionist” Mark Zukerberg, comes news of another social networking service that gets the same treatment, Instagram.

According to RT, the Iranian court ruled that Instagram services should be banned over privacy concerns. It appears that Ministry of Telecommunications had to impose the ban over Instagram after some citizens’ complaints that the service is violating their privacy.

The information has been confirmed by local news agency, citing an Iranian official. However, it appears that many Iranians can still access Instagram services without any issues, which might suggest that the ruling has yet to be imposed.

This would be the fourth social app banned or restricted in Iran, after Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. All four services are working intermittently or under heavy restrictions in Iran, which are said to “undermine” the Islamic regime.

Instagram officials have yet to comment on the situation in Iran, but we will keep an eye out for any additional news on the matter so stay tuned. If you are living in Iran, tell us if you can still access Instagram services in the comments section.
