We’ll have to wait a little more for Huawei’s new flagship

MWC 2015 is coming up and one of the devices we were hoping to see go live was the Huawei P6. The company was also expected to host a press event in Barcelona on March 1.

But Huawei seems to have other plans for the aforementioned event and the P6 is not one of them. According to fresh information coming out of Pocket-Lint, the P8 will be unveiled during a separate event in London poised for April 15.

Well, tough luck, it just seems we will have to wait more than we originally expected. But the wait might be worth our while.

Word on the street has it that the Huawei P8 will take advantage of a slender metal chassis and will have a “porcelain texture” which will probably feel very nice when touched.

The handset is expected to make a debut boasting a 5.2-inch display with 1080p, which is no surprise since Huawei CEO recently scoffed at Xiaomi and Meizu for putting “useless” 2K displays onboard of their flagships. He will probably scorn LG even more, as the company’s upcoming G4 flagship might arrive with a 3K display.

P8 is set to draw power from a HiSilicone Kirin 930 chipset which is a 64-bit octa-core processor built on a 16nm processor by TSMC. The device will also pack a 13MP camera up in front.

As for MWC 2015, Huawei has a few tablets, a smartwatch and the Huawei Mate 7 Compact smartphone to show us, so stay tuned.
