Huawei has more devices to unleash this year

Today was a busy day in terms of smartphone news, as we have seen Xiaomi’s product roadmap for 2015 leak in all of its glory, and on top of that, Huawei’s plans have also been revealed.

The Chinese device maker has just unveiled its latest P8 flagship, but as soon as June, we might end up seeing a successor to the current Mate 7 phablet (which we have reviewed, in case you want to find out more details about it). At least this is what the leaked timetable indicates.

However, we should mention that Huawei’s roadmap has been leaked by obscure publication Mobile Dad, so you’d better take the information with a grain of salt.

Anyway, in our review, we gave the Huawei Mate 7 a decent score due to its powerful specifications and reasonable price tag, but we did point out that the device maker still had some work to do to get things perfect. For example, the handset’s sunlight readability was extremely low.

According to the new information, the Mate 8 should make a debut with a 6-inch QHD display, which seems something against Huawei’s dogma that says 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution on phones is unnecessary.

Furthermore, the Mate 8 is said to come with an octa-core Kirin processor fitted with 3GB of RAM. Additionally, the phone should don a 16MP OIS unit up in front.

Hopefully, we will be hearing more about the phablet soon.
