Chinese handset vendor Huawei is getting ready for the launch of new mobile processors, and it has already confirmed the upcoming availability of no less than 3 of them.

The most interesting new chip is a 64-bit processor, which will land on the market with an octa-core, BIG.LITTLE architecture, as GizChina notes.

The CPU is built using the 28nm manufacturing process and is set to deliver a nice range of connectivity capabilities when released, including support for GSM/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE and FDD-LTE networks.

In addition to this chipset, Huawei also plans to release a single-core CPU for entry-level devices, along with a quad-core chip for the mid range of the market. The octa-core processor will be aimed at the high-end segment.

Huawei’s CPUs will face strong competition from products coming from Mediatek and Qualcomm, so it remains to be seen how well they will fare when devices powered by them are made available.
