The Windows Phone handset will be released in Russia

The Ascend W2 is the second budget-friendly Windows Phone handset announced by Huawei. The Chinese company is expected to release the smartphone in Russia by the end of this month, sources close to the matter confirm.

According to Russian blog site hi-tech.mail.ru, Huawei Ascend W2 will be available for purchase in Russia for 8990 rubbles outright, which is about $280 or €205.

The device ships with Windows Phone 8 operating system out of the box and packs a decent dual-core processor. It also sports a 4.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display, as well as 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

The Ascend W2 packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB) and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
