Huawei’s Windows Phone 8-based Ascend W1 smartphone is now available for pre-order in Russia, after being confirmed for launch in the country several weeks ago.

The handset is currently listed in Russia with a price tag of 8,990 Rubles ($299 / €225) attached to it, via local retailer Svyaznoy.

As WMPoweruser notes, the handset is cheaper than Nokia’s Lumia 620, which is currently retailing at over €250.

Made official at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, the Ascend W1 sports a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) screen, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, and 4GB of internal memory.

Furthermore, the handset arrives on shelves with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, front camera for video calling, microSD memory card slot, and a 2,000 mAh battery inside.
