Just a few days ago we saw the first images of Huawei’s supposed upcoming Ascent Mate 7 phablet, which impressed with its extremely thin bezel design.

Well, the Chinese manufacturer appears to be also working to provide a successor for its popular Ascent P7 smartphone, which will unsurprisingly be called the P8.

A new report coming out of Asia and relayed to us by Phone Arena reveals the handset has popped up with the Chinese website CNMO, revealing some of the specifications of the device plus a bunch of pictures showcasing its metal chassis.

According to the information, the Huawei Ascend P8 will take advantage of a 5.2-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and will draw power from the company’s own octa-core Kirin 930 processor.

The device will also bundle 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a fingerprint sensor like you see with the Samsung Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Alpha.

The report also mentions that the Ascend P8 will be released as a flagship device, but will be marketed with an affordable price-tag, compared to other top-tiers on the market.

We’re not told whether the Ascent P8 will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, but I certainly hope this is the case. After all, the device is scheduled to drop sometime in March next year, so there’s plenty of time to get the OS onboard.
