Today, Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei has officially launched the Ascend Mate smartphone in India, confirming its availability through various local retailers.

The 6.1-inch handset, made official at CES 2013 in January, can already be seen listed on this page on Infibeam, and is available for purchase through retailers across the country at Rs 24,900 ($425 / €320), BGR.in notes.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the handset arrives on the market with a 6.1-inch IPS (720×1280 pixels) screen with Magic Touch technology, a 1.5 GHz quad-core Huawei K3V2 processor inside, and 2GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the handset sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, front camera for video calling, a 4050mAh battery inside, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI loaded on top.
