Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia and US-based wireless carrier Verizon have been long rumored to plan the unveiling of a new, high-end Windows Phone 8 handset, and some more rumors on this have emerged online.

Apparently, the new smartphone is set to hit shelves in the not too distant future, at least this is what a tweet from The Verge’s Tom Warren reads.

Previous rumors suggested that Nokia was about to bring to the market a new version of its Lumia 920 for Verizon, specifically designed for the carrier’s network.

Supposedly dubbed Lumia 922, the new mobile phone was also said to sport various hardware enhancements, yet nothing has been officially confirmed on it so far.

Since these are nothing more than rumors, we’ll have to take them with a grain of salt for the time being, though there’s a chance that they will pan out in the end.
