We try to see behind Microsoft's explanations

Since Microsoft announced Windows 10 for Phone Technical Preview would be launched this month, everyone was anxious to try it out on their devices.

Then the Redmond-based company said that, before making the new version of the OS available for download, it would announce the list of compatible devices.

Several hours ago the promised Windows 10 Preview went live and at the same time Microsoft confirmed it could only be installed on six low-end and mid-range smartphones.

There are no high-end devices on the list of compatible smartphones, which might have upset lots of Windows Phone fans. In fact, many are so angry that, in order to show their frustration, they have revealed the real reason that made Microsoft skip Lumia 1520 owners from the rollout of this major OS update.

For those out of the loop, Microsoft claims that they have “a feature that will be coming soon called 'partition stitching' which will allow us to adjust the OS partition dynamically to create room for the install process to be able to update the OS in-place.

“Until this comes in, we needed devices which were configured by mobile operators with sufficiently sized OS partitions to allow the in-place upgrade, and many of the bigger phones have very tight OS partitions.”

But this isn't the real reason Windows 10 Preview is not available for any high-end smartphones. The real reason is hidden in the video below, so make sure you watch it.
