The latest update only brings minor improvements and bug fixes

Google is on a roll, as the search giant has released quite a few updates for its Android application, but it has also announced new apps such as Docs and Sheets, which are now available as separate downloads via Google Play Store.

The Hangouts application for Android devices has just received a small update as well, but unlike some of the other apps that received a similar treatment, this one does not come with an official changelog attached to it.

Given the fact that this is just a small incremental from the previous version, we suspect that it only brings minor improvements and bug fixes.

The update seems to be rolling out in waves in Google Play Store, so it might not be available for all Android devices at the same time. However, it’s likely that the latest version of Hangouts will be available in all countries by the end of the week.

Those who are using Hangouts as their main messaging app should update via Google Play store or they can opt to download Hangouts for Android 2.1.100 for free via Softpedia.

Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.3 and up, but some features will only work on smartphones and tablets running Android 4.0 or higher.
