Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has been long rumored to plan the release of a new Facebook phone (after launching the HTC ChaCha and Salsa two years ago), and it seems that next week might bring some more light into this.

The handset, spotted online before under the name of HTC Myst, has already received the necessary approvals from the FCC in the US, and is rumored to arrive on shelves in the country soon.

According to a recent article on TechCrunch, all might be unveiled on April 4, as Facebook has already sent out invitations for a press event where HTC will be present as well.

The “Facebook phone” might feature a modified flavor of Android, with features specific to the social networking site, unlike the previous devices, which only packed dedicated Facebook buttons. However, nothing has been officially confirmed on this as of now, so stay tuned.
