It looks like the recently leaked DROID DNA is about to go official at Verizon Wireless. The smartphone made an appearance on the carrier's support site several days ago, but no additional details on the phone's availability have been available until now.

BGR reports major carrier Verizon Wireless and Taiwanese handset maker HTC are hosting an event on November 13. Media invitations have just been sent out for the product launch, which is set to take place in New York City.

The main star of the event is likely to be the rumored HTC DROID DNA, which is expected to ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform out of the box and a stunning 5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display.

The smartphone is said to be equipped with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot and LTE support. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
