Last month, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation unveiled to the world a new flagship Android-based smartphone, none other than the HTC One M8, but it seems that it hasn’t forgotten about older handsets either.

According to a tweet coming from HTC’s Jason Mackenzie, last year’s HTC One (M7) handset is set to get a taste of the Sense 6.0 users interface that debuted on the new smartphone as soon as the last month.

No specific release date has been provided as of now, but the sure thing is that the update is coming, and that users will get a brand-new experience on their year-old devices.

However, the announcement does not come as a surprise, since HTC made it clear than it planned on bringing Sense 6.0 to a series of 2013 devices ever since unveiling the new flagship.

At that time, the company suggested that HTC One mini, One max, Butterfly and some Desire phones would also receive the UI enhancements, though specific availability dates weren’t made official.

While Jason Mackenzie was referring only to the HTC One devices in North America in his tweet, users in other markets out there will also receive the enhancement, most probably starting May too.
