Canadian carrier Fido has just introduced the almost 1-year-old HTC One mini and customers can grab it for free with a 2-year Tab24 agreement on a Smart plan. There’s also the option to buy the phone for only $150 (€109) with a 2-year Tab24 agreement on a Standard plan.

However, those who do not wish to commit to a long-term contract can purchase the HTC One mini for $400 (€291) with a month plan and no Fido agreement.

According to Fido, the smartphone will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but HTC has already started the rollout of Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the One mini. This means that Fido customers will be able to update their HTC One mini devices soon.

The HTC One mini comes packed with a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, and 1GB of RAM. Even though it offers 16GB of internal memory, it lacks microSD card slot.

The smartphone sports a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features 342ppi (pixel density) and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection. Are you going to pick this mid-range Android smartphone from Fido?
