Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has started to send out invitations for a press event set to take place on October 18 in Kaohsiung, where the long rumored HTC One max is expected to be unveiled.

Apparently, HTC has started to send out invitations for an October 16 event in Hong Kong as well, and might actually make the device official there.

No specific info on what the company will reveal on that day has been provided as of now, but HTC One max appears to be the main candidate, especially after being rumored quite a few times to arrive around that day.

“One finger opens up a big view. You are invited to immerse in the sound with us,” the invitation to the event reads, according to Engadget.

Just as previously rumored, the HTC One max could be announced with a large, 6-inch touchscreen display, as well as with a fingerprint scanner on the back. The phone is also said to include BoomSound technology inside. Update: HTC One max will, in fact, become official on October 15. ePrice says that HTC will hold the global launch event for the smartphone on that day in China.
