Owners of HTC One X+ smartphones out there won’t get a taste of a newer Android platform version beyond the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean release, it seems.

Responding to a user inquiry on the matter, HTC Netherlands stated on Twitter that the handset would remain on this OS version, much to the dismay of said One X+ owner.

At the moment, the device is running under Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 loaded on top, and it should be able to provide users with the best possible experience, HTC also said.

Newer smartphones from the company, including the HTC One, One mini, and One max have already been confirmed to get a taste of upgrades recently, but older devices from the company appear to have been removed from HTC’s update plans.

While only HTC Netherlands has confirmed said plans for the time being, chances are that the same will happen in other markets out there as well. Stay tuned for more on this.
