Major carrier SFR has just announced the highly anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now available for HTC One. The French network operator announced earlier this month it will bring the upgrade to its customers “in the coming weeks.”

Today, the carrier confirmed Android 4.4.2 KitKat rollout commenced FOTA (firmware over the air) for all HTC One owners who purchased their devices through SFR.

SFR is one of the first carriers that announces the availability of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for HTC One, but the upgrade is likely to arrive in other countries as well very soon.

Several carriers in the United States are now waiting for the final KitKat build to arrive so they can start delivering it to their customers. We will keep an eye out for more details on this one, so stay tuned for additional info.

[UPDATE]: SFR has just backtracked from the original statement and now claims it received the Android 4.4.2 KitKat test build for HTC One, which is likely to be approved in the next couple of days (if nothing goes wrong).
