The HTC One M9 has just been made available for purchase in the US, and if you have picked up the new flagship, you’ll be glad to know that the phone’s bootloader has already been unlocked.

Developer Jcase put his development skills at work and applied them on the One M9. And he has already provided us with the proof he achieved S-OFF, which means we’re now dealing with a fully unlocked bootloader with no restriction on the ability to write on the system partition (as seen at xda-developers).

As the story goes, the unlock method is not currently available. Jcase says no ETAs are available, so don’t hold your breath on seeing the method be made available to everyone just yet.

Jcase and his team are probably testing the safest and easiest way you can achieve this feature, while also making sure the process doesn't do anything bad to your premium device.

HTC announced the One M9 at MWC 2015 in Barcelona a few weeks ago. The handset arrives with a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and draws power from Qualcomm’s controversial platform, the Snapdragon 810, which has been repeatedly accused of overheating.

The phone maintains the design of the previous One M8 but brings some subtle differences of its own.
