Microsoft has been rolling out Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 to many OEM devices, including BLU Win HD LTE, Lava Iris Win 1, Yezz Billy 4.7 and Prestigio 8500 Duo.

Yesterday, Lumia 830 and Lumia 735 owners have started to report that Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 popped up on their smartphones, even though Microsoft did not update their OS upgrade list.

Today, US-based carrier Verizon confirms that HTC One M8 is getting the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 as well, though this version of the update seems to be slightly behind Lumia 735 and 830's which got 15148.

HTC One M8 for Windows is now receiving build version 15143, but all of the new features and improvements that have been confirmed by Microsoft should be included in the update.

In this regard, expect to get MKV support for video playback, app permission toggles, and Reset Protection feature.

In addition, your HTC One M8 for Windows will receive Bluetooth HID support for external keyboard, Reorganized Settings screen with categories and search, as well as the option to pin individual settings to the Start screen.

HTC One M8 is one of the OEM devices that has been confirmed to receive a Windows 10 upgrade when Microsoft releases it later this year.

Until then though, owners can try out Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview builds if they are anxious to get a glimpse at what's to come.
