HTC One (M8) has already received Android 5.0 Lollipop in multiple countries and many carriers have rolled out the update already.

However, Verizon was lagging behind and did not release the update, but that's about to change as the Big Red has just posted the release notes for Android 5.0 Lollipop of HTC One (M8).

Many HTC One (M8) owners have already reported they have received the update on their smartphones, so you should be notified any day now. Given the fact that this is a staged rollout, it might take a few days until it reaches all devices.

Among the most important improvements included in Android 5.0 Lollipop is the new material design, which offers smoother animations and 64-bit ABI support, along with improved runtime.

The Lollipop Notification panel is another enhancement, as well as the Lock Screen. Some features have been removed or replaced with others, such as the Sense settings regarding security.

The World Clock Globe has been removed as well, for memory considerations and “Sound” has been changed to “Sound & notification” in Settings.

Android Beam has been included and Verizon also made some enhancements such as the enabling of the Band 4 roaming and improvements to 3-way calling feature.
