HTC One (M8), the latest flagship smartphone from the Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation, is currently receiving the Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system upgrade in Australia too, it seems.

The new software release was announced for the device several weeks ago, and it has already landed on devices in various markets out there.

According to a recent article on Ausdroid, users in Australia are also getting a taste of the update at the moment, with all of the new features and enhancements that were announced for it packed inside.

For those out of the loop, we should note that, although HTC refers to this update as Android 4.4.3, the software comes with the security improvements included in Android 4.4.4 KitKat as well.

The mobile phone maker has combined the two in a single package, so as to make it easier for users to update their devices.

At the moment, the new platform upgrade is available for HTC One (M8) devices on the networks of Optus and Telstra, with Vodafone still taking its time testing it.

The update is being deployed over-the-air, and users will receive a notification when it arrives on their phones. They can also manually check on its availability, by going to Settings > About Phone > Check for Update.
