Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is gearing up for the release of new software updates for its flagship handsets, and new info on the matter suggests that it might start releasing them as soon as the next month.

According to llabtoofer, the company is currently working on the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for both HTC One (M7) and HTC One M8, and it will make it available for download either in May or in June.

The Google Play Edition variants of these devices are those that will receive the update first, but the rest of the phones in the series are set to get a taste of it as well soon after, except for the dual-SIM version of HTC One (M7C).

The Android 4.4.3 KitKat (KTU84F) platform is said to be under final testing now, with the international HTC One M8 set to have it in May or June, and with the HTC One (M7) devices out there expected to be updated sometime in the June-July timeframe.

The new software will come to these phones with the Sense 6.0 user interface loaded on top, which means that users are bound to enjoy a great experience following the update. HTC One mini and HTC One max might also get the upgrade.

Unfortunately, it seems that these are the only handsets that will be updated to Android 4.4.3, as One X, One X+, and One XL will remain on Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5.0.

HTC Butterfly will get updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 5.5 in the May-July timeframe, after the US version (Verizon’s DROID DNA) has started to receive it recently.
