Android 5.0 Lollipop is available for another handset

Even if HTC missed the self-imposed time frame it announced for rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the One M8 and One M7 handsets, the device maker hasn't abandoned the quest for delivering the new build to its customers.

Not long after Lollipop started rolling out for the HTC One M8, the same update is now being pushed over to the One M7.

As announced by HTC’s own Jeff Gordon on Twitter, the update is currently hitting users in Europe. It weighs a hefty 808MB so make sure your battery is charged up to a decent level before you start the download.

The new build will bring all the Lollipop-specific updates, including a new notification system delivered as notification cards and new Rolodex style recent apps view.

Like it often happens with updates such as these, some users will be hit sooner than others, so if you haven’t received Lollipop on your One M7, don’t despair; you’ll probably be in for a little wait.

If you’re the more proactive type, you can do it manually: head on to the About Phone section, check in the Software Updates section and Check Now if the new build has arrived for your trusty HTC One M7.
