Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is currently rumored to have partnered with Amazon for the manufacturing of a smartphone from the company.

Amazon has been long rumored to plan the release of Android-based smartphones, yet it hasn’t made an official announcement on the matter as of now.

However, a recent article on Financial Times suggests it is currently working with HTC for the launch of no less than three such devices, and that they are already in the final stages of development.

At least one of the three models is said to be almost ready, though no specific info on the phone itself has been provided as of now, as Phandroid notes.

No official confirmation on Amazon’s plans to release a smartphone has emerged until now, but chances are that all will be unveiled in the not too distant future, so stay tuned for additional details on the matter.
