New high-end Android-based smartphones are expected to arrive on shelves before the end of the year, and leading vendors such as HTC, LG, and Samsung are rumored to be among those to launch them, in an attempt to counter Apple’s next iPhone model.

According to a recent article on DigiTimes, HTC is planning the release of a successor for HTC Butterfly in the third quarter of the year, with a large full HD touchscreen display, as well as with BlinkFeed, UltraPixel sensor, and BoomSound features.

LG is reportedly getting ready for the launch of Optimus G2 later this year, a smartphone that made headlines a quite few times lately.

As for Samsung, rumor has it that it will indeed release the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone in Q3, with a 5.99-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and an Exynos 5 octa-core processor inside.
