The smartphone supports LTE and will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

Previously leaked as HTC Zara, the Desire 601 is about to make its debut in the United States. The smartphone has been confirmed to arrive with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system onboard and LTE support.

HTC Desire 601 was recently spotted at FCC by the guys over at Engadget and features support for Sprint’s network, but it can also be added by Virgin Mobile to its portfolio of mid-range LTE smartphones.

We also know that the Desire 601 specs sheet indicate that the handset will be equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, as well as an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Other highlights of the phone include a decent 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution, a 5-megapixel main camera, secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls and 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery.
