As expected, HTC Desire 601 has just been launched at Canadian carrier Fido. We reported yesterday on the smartphone’s availability in Canada and we are now expecting for Rogers to start selling the devices as well.

As MobileSyrup points out, customers can now purchase the HTC Desire 601 for $300 (€210) outright, but those who don’t mind committing to a new two-year agreement can grab the device for free.

It is also worth mentioning that the red-themed HTC Desire 601 is exclusively available in Canada from Fido and Rogers, so you can add that on the list of reasons for which you should get the device from these carriers, if red is your favorite color.

HTC Desire 601 ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a more than decent 1.4 GHz dual-core processor.
