The update is “in the lab” for the time being

HTC One (M8) has already received Android 5.0 Lollipop update in lots of countries, but carriers all over the world are still delaying the release for different reasons.

In the United States, Verizon hasn't released the Lollipop update for HTC One (M8) yet and it doesn't seem to be in a hurry to do so anyway.

According to HTC's VP of Product Management Mo Versi, the update is now “in the lab,” but his company hopes to get approval for the delivery of Android 5.0 Lollipop for One (M8) in the first week of March.

If that proves to be accurate, then Verizon customers who own the HTC One (M8) will probably receive the update a few days after it gets approved by the carrier.

Unfortunately, there's no telling whether or not the update will really be approved by Verizon in early March, as HTC hopes. There have been cases when the carrier did not offer its approval for some update because of bugs or things it did not like.

Hopefully, that won't be the case here and Verizon will give its approval for the rollout of Android 5.0 Lollipop for HTC One (M8). We'll be keeping an eye out on this one, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
