HTC might market this phone only in the Asia region

HTC is coming to Barcelona with one main mission – to unveil the One M9 flagship. The phone’s complete list of specifications have been leaked into the wild, but some of you might have been disappointed by the fact that the handset will only boast 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

If that’s the case, you shouldn't despair. According to a fresh Tweet posted by @upleaks, HTC is apparently looking to feed the passion of 2K display enthusiasts with another smartphone called HTC Butterfly 3.

This is the successor of the HTC Butterfly 2, which launched in summer 2014 with a 5-inch 1080p display. Well, the purported Butterfly 3 will bring forth a 5.2-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.

We’re not told anything else about the remaining specs, but the question is will we end up seeing the Butterfly 3 take to the skies in the international markets? Traditionally, HTC has been marketing the Butterfly lineup in Japan and China only.

On the other hand, HTC might bring with it at Barcelona the rumored HTC One M9 Plus which is also said to take advantage of a QHD display, so 2K fans are covered.

Even so, it remains to be seen if the second phone will go live at MWC 2015 or not, but in a week or so we’ll know for sure.
