Good news for HTC 8X owners in Germany, as Microsoft and HTC have just started the rollout of the highly anticipated Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update.

According to WMPoweruser, the update is now available for non-developer HTC 8X units in Germany, so basically everyone that owns an HTC 8X device is eligible for this upgrade.

The information comes via PocketPC forum where several HTC 8X owners confirmed that they had received the GDR3 update on their smartphones.

Aside from the Windows Phone 8 GDR3, also known as Windows Phone 8 Update 3, HTC 8X owners will notice another HTC update that will arrive separately on their devices.

This is likely meant to improve some of the phone’s features and fix some specific bugs. Hopefully, the update will soon be available in other countries as well.
