The service only works between HD Voice-enabled phones

It looks like Canadian carriers Bell and Virgin Mobile have just introduced the HD Voice feature for their customers. The service is available for free on select handsets and will only work on HD Voice-enabled mobile phones.

According to the folks over at MobileSyrup, HD Voice is available for Bell customers who own the Nokia C6, Nokia C6-01, HTC Sensation, as well HTC Incredible S.

In the same news, it looks like Virgin Mobile customers living in Manitoba or Saskatchewan won’t have access to HD Voice. On the other hand, Bell mentions that ‘callers within Saskatchewan will not have access to HD Voice at launch.’

This might indicate that the HD Voice feature will be available in Saskatchewan at some point in the near future. In addition, those who call within ‘extended’ 4G HSPA+ coverage does not have HD Voice at launch.
