The messaging app / service might arrive on iOS as well

Android users might soon be able to enjoy a new messaging service on their devices, one that would be coming from Google themselves, and which is now said to be called Babel.

Previously, it was said to arrive on devices running under the mobile OS as Babble, and to deliver a UI similar to that of Google+, but with various enhancements packed inside.

Apparently, the service might be called differently, and might also be destined to arrive on Apple devices, a recent post on Droid-life suggests.

In addition to enabling users to stay connected with their friends over Google’s social network, Babel might also pack support for group chats, along with an improved notifications system across devices.

However, although we did have the chance to spot allegedly leaked screenshots with the app / service, nothing has been officially confirmed on its existence as of now.
