Google+ for Android has just received a small update that promises to improve user experience even further when it comes to performance and functionality.

However, the most obvious change included in this update is the addition of new icons. There’s also a new profile page, as AndroidPolice notes, along with some other visual tweaks meant to enhance the browsing experience.

It’s also worth mentioning that some minor changes, like the fact that you won’t be able to swipe to dismiss the auto-backup message anymore and the relocation of the post filter search box, have been included as well.

There are no new features added in the new version, as Google’s engineers focused on functionality this time. However, without an official changelog, there’s no way to tell whether or not the newest version of Google+ brings any new features.

Nevertheless, expect a fair share of bug fixes and minor under-the-hood improvements to be included in the update as well. Stay tuned for more info on future Google+ updates.

You can now download Google+ for Android 4.5 for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.2 and up.
