Today, Mountain View-based Internet giant Google made available for download a new flavor of its Google I/O application for devices running under the Android platform, in preparation for the official debut of the conference, set for May 15-17.

The new app release comes with support for scanning of attendee badges via NFC, synchronization of schedule changes between devices, and with a new lock screen widget for viewing one’s agenda on the go.

Furthermore, the app packs vector-based maps with session info, dedicated HDMI video output for live streams, automatic Wi-Fi setup for attendees, and off-site attendee mode for livestream-only viewers.

Android users can log in with their Google+ accounts, and will also enjoy support for viewing Office Hours sessions and improved support for devices with RTL locales.

The new Google I/O 1.0.1 app is available for download via this link, with support for all Android 2.3.3 and up devices.
