Owners of a Galaxy Nexus smartphone on Verizon Wireless’ network should know that updated Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean binaries for the device have been added to AOSP.

The smartphone was welcomed back into the Android Open Source Project only a few weeks ago, joining the GSM flavor that was already fully supported there.

With the JRO03H bits released in AOSP now, rooters are certain to enjoy new custom ROMs for their handsets soon. As for the rest of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus users, chances are that a software update will follow soon, although no info on the matter has been officially provided so far.

What remains to be seen is whether Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus, also a CDMA device, will make it to AOSP anytime soon.

In the meantime, you can have a look at the available Jelly Bean binaries on Google’s servers via this link.
