Following the release of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as a software update for some of the Nexus handsets out there, Mountain View-based Google also made the code and binaries for the platform available via the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

At the moment, those interested in having a look at build JDQ39, android-4.2.2_r1, should head over to this page on the Google Developers website to download them.

There, they will find the code for devices such as Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (both WiFi and 3G versions), Nexus 10, and GSM Galaxy Nexus (both takju and yakju versions), Talk Android notes.

With the new release, Google shows once again its commitment to provide support for the Nexus handsets and tablets out there, though it remains to be seen for how long it will continue to do so for the Galaxy Nexus.
