Users will be able to manage their music on up to 10 devices

Yesterday, Google made available for download a new flavor of its Google Play Music for Android application, namely version 5.6.1617P, which brought along a nice set of enhancements to all users, but it seems that it also made some other changes to the service.

To be more precise, the company decided to reintroduce the four-device de-authorization limit that the service featured when it was first launched two years ago.

Following complaint from users, the company had lifted the limitation a while ago, but it appears that it decided to bring it back, as Ausdroid has discovered.

What these means is that, while you can authorize up to 10 devices, you will not be able to de-authorize more than four of them a year.

“Your Music library is accessible from any computer, as well as up to ten devices. You can deauthorize four devices per year,” users will read when accessing the settings page for Play Music on their Play Music accounts.

Google hasn’t provided specific info on what has determined it to make the change, though we assume that it will make an announcement on this sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, at this point, there’s no telling whether the limitation is here to stay or not.
