Launched back in July for Android users living in Canada and United States, Google's movie rentals service has just been introduced in the UK.

While in the United States users can rent movies starting at $1.99 (£1.3 or 1.45 EUR), those who want to rent movies in the UK will have to pay between £2.49 ($3.8 or 2.8 EUR) and £3.49 ($5.5 or 4 EUR).

The service is accessible via Videos application, which is available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 2.2. and up.

With Google's movie rentals service, users will be able to watch rented movies instantly without having to download the movies on the Android device.

However, all movies can also be downloaded on the phone for later viewing, which is especially useful when an internet connection is not available.
