Mountain View-based Internet giant Google has made some new tweaks to the Google Now application on Android devices, so as to make it easier for users to add events to their calendars.

For that, the company is now enabling Google Now to peek into users' Gmail so as to show a card suggesting for the event to be added to the calendar associated with the account.

Moreover, a recent post on Android Police explains that users will be provided with the option to choose whether the functionality will be present in the "everything else" section of Google Now's settings.

For those who might be concerned about their privacy, we should note that Google Now is already performing similar tasks on Android devices. For example, it is able to pull flight information from confirmation messages.

However, the one thing that hasn't been confirmed for now is whether Google Now will be able to suggest Calendar events when looking into other services, such as Hangouts.

As mentioned several times before, Google appears to have added new functionality to Google Now on Android so as to bring it as close as possible to a personal assistant similar to Apple's Siri and Microsoft's newly launched Cortana. As it turns out, it is making nice advancements in this direction.
