Mountain View-based Internet giant Google is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new Google Now widget for its Android users, one that would expand the functionality that users can enjoy.

There’s little information available on this at the moment, but it seems that users will be able to access relevant parts in Google Now after placing this widget on their homescreen.

Basically, it would deliver information based on the Google Now card preferences that each user has set, Android Police notes in a recent post.

For the time being, however, no specific info on when the widget might arrive on devices has been provided, and it remains to be seen whether Google will deliver it to users via Google Play or through a new platform upgrade straight on devices.
