Tired of waiting for Lollipop? You could try this app

The latest update for the Google Now Launcher has arrived (intertwined with the one for Google (search), which has control over a lot of the content you see there) and it bundles an interesting feat.

As you might as well know, Android 5.0 Lollipop has been out and about for a few months, but the majority of devices are yet to receive the update. There are a bunch of models running Lollipop out of the box, like the Nexus 6 but they are pretty expensive.

On the other hand, most device manufacturers are hard at work to produce the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for their flagships.

But if you do not own one of such devices, you probably have a long, long wait ahead of you. What’s more, there’s the possibility you might never get to see the update for your model at all.

However, the Google Now Launcher update we were telling you about brings Material Design to any device running Android 4.1 to 4.4.

The app will bring an infusion of Material Design to your Google search bar, app tray and some animations. Older versions of the Google Now Launcher mimicked the version of OS you were running at the time.

Surely, the new Now Launcher won’t bring about the Android 5.0 Lollipop specific features, but at least it will look like your device is running Google’s latest.
