Google recently updated several of its applications, including Search, Maps and Drive, which we already reported on. Another Android app that's been getting an update is Hangouts.

This one however received a smaller update that fixes some issues with MMS and SMS, which were affecting some Android users since the last update.

According to the official changelog, the update brings more fixes for sending / receiving MMS, but no other details have been provided.

In addition, developers confirmed they have fixed a bug that prevented some users from sending SMS longer than 160 characters. These are all the changes included in this update, or at least those that have been listed by Google in the official changelog.

You can now download Hangouts for Android 2.0.217 for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
