The latest version does not come with an official changelog

Google updated its Hangouts application for Android devices a few days ago, but it looks like there were some issues that came with the update, otherwise we can’t see why the search giant had to update it once again.

Those who upgraded to version 2.0.217, which fixed some SMS/MMS bugs and added the option to send messages longer than 160 characters, will be prompted to update their Hangouts application one more time.

However, aside from the fact that it brings Hangouts to version 2.3, there’s nothing we can tell about the new update. Google did not release an official changelog in Play store, but we suspect that the update is meant to fix one or more issues brought in by the previous one.

You can now download Hangouts for Android 2.3 for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
