A new flavor of the Google Gesture Search software is now available for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 2.1.1, with some appealing enhancements packed inside.

The most important of them is the added support for more languages, enabling users to take advantage of the drawing of characters in over 40 languages and providing faster access to content, contacts, applications, bookmarks, settings, music and more, all through simply swiping the screen, Google notes.

“Searching multilingual contents by drawing native characters for 40+ languages. Transliteration is supported for all these languages. Pinyin initials are also allowed for Chinese. More bugs fixed,” the app’s release notes unveil.

The app also allows the owners of Android phones and tablets to use transliteration across many languages, thus being able to write [pinyin] for Chinese instead of writing native characters that could need more strokes.
