Google’s standalone Camera application for Android devices has just received a minor update that bumps it to version 2.1.042.

In case the update doesn’t show on your device, it means that Google is slowly rolling out the update on Play store, so it might take a while until it reaches all countries.

As for the changes included in this update, Droid-Life reports that the new version of Google Camera now features the option to capture photos while recording videos.

This is not a new feature at all, but it has been removed since Google Camera became a standalone application available for download via Play Store.

The newest update fixes this for Android owners who want to take advantage of this feature and reintroduces the ability to take photos during video capturing.

If the latest version of the application doesn’t show on your phone yet, you can now download Google Camera for Android 2.1.042 for free via Softpedia. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.4 and up.

However, keep in mind that some features are not available on some Android smartphones. For example, the Photo Sphere and Panorama that require a gyro sensor are not available on Motorola Moto G.
