Although it’s not among the most popular music players available on Google Play Store, GoneMAD is an interesting alternative to the highly-acclaimed Winamp for Android.

The latest version comes with smart playlists, ratings, playcounts, date and last played, along with the ability to jump directly to playing artist/album/genre/song/folder.

Developers have also added cue support along with completely customizable metadata lines for now playing and new “Add To Playlist” option.

There’s also a new option that allows users to change the order of the views on the navigation bar, along with opus/wma-lossless/adts/3gp support. The last two formats are only supported on devices powered by Android 4.0+.

GoneMAD Music Player 1.4.0 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 1.6 and up. Check it out here.

Keep in mind that this is a trial version, which means that after 14 days, users will be asked to unlock the full version for $4/ €3.
