Owners of Galaxy S4 smartphones in some markets in Europe should already be receiving a new software update meant to deliver some new features and capabilities to them, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Apparently, Samsung has started to deploy a certain software version XXUGNE5 to the Snapdragon version of the Galaxy S4 (featuring model number GT-I9505), though only devices in Germany are said to have received it as of now.

Info coming from allaboutsamsung.de claims that the new update is providing users with features such as Kids Mode and KNOX 2.0, both of which have been available only for the owners of Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphones until now.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Kids Mode has been designed to lock device down when being handed to a child, so that they would receive access only to a series of approved applications. Moreover, as SammyHub notes, it sports a kid-friendly UI, which should ensure an appealing experience.

As for KNOX 2.0, it comes as a major update to KNOX, one of the most important security functions on Samsung devices. According to the handset vendor, the update makes KNOX a fully featured, secure solution for business users.

As mentioned above, the update has been spotted in Germany, and it seems that users can download it both OTA and via Kies. It should not be too long before users in other markets receive the new software version, so stay tuned.
