Earlier this week, news of Gold-flavored Galaxy S4 models spotted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerged online, and Samsung took its time to shed some light on the matter.

As it turns out, this color version of the device was actually announced back on August 27, and arrived on shelves in the UAE on September 8, so there’s basically nothing new about it.

In fact, Samsung explains that Kuwait and Qatar have also received the Gold version of the smartphone in the meantime, though no info on their possible landing in other markets around the world has been provided.

However, one thing that Samsung Mobile Arabia underlines on its Facebook page is the fact that the Galaxy S4 Gold edition was available for purchase before Apple even unveiled its new iPhone 5s, which is up for grabs in a gold version as well.
